Since
1941, The Planning Council has been dedicated to the planning, development,
and management of those human services which improve the quality
of community life. We assist people in meeting human service needs,
offering a variety of programs. All services are confidential and
many are offered at no cost to the consumer. We also serve corporations,
agencies, and governmental bodies seeking help with the planning
and management of the human services arena. The Council serves Hampton
Roads, Western Tidewater, Northeastern North Carolina, Northern
Virginia and Maryland. We welcome inquiries from all sectors of
the community.
We lead in planning, developing and managing human services through
people with superior knowledge and experience who are dedicated
to improving quality of life.
The
Planning Council is a not-for-profit, community-based planning corporation
operating under the governance of a voluntary regional Board of
Directors. The Council cooperates with the United
Way of South Hampton Roads, federal, state and local governments,
and numerous public and private sector organizations to meet human
services needs. The Council is a Certified Agency of the United
Way of South Hampton Roads, and a member of the National
Association of Planning Councils (NAPC).
