The Planning Council is the Childcare Resource and Referral agency for South Hampton Roads, Franklin, Isle of Wight, Southampton County, and Eastern Shore of Virginia. The Council is a member of VACCRRN-Virginia Association of Childcare Resource and Referral agencies.
Reliable and affordable childcare is a concern for many working
parents. The Planning Council offers child care Resource and Referral to
help parents find quality child care and evaluate the best setting
for their children. In addition, businesses and corporations realizing the significance
of childcare in the lives of their employees consult with The Planning
Council’s Children’s Services Division.

Experienced Planning Council staff locates regulated childcare options to meet the individualized childcare needs of families/employees. Vacancy checks of the childcare facilities, as well as tools for parents to make the most informed decision to choose quality childcare are among the services offered to the employers on a contractual basis. Seminars on work and family topics and parent education are also available for the employees of these agencies.
