The
Planning Council’s Information and Referral Service, established
in 1965, is a free and confidential service for the people of Southeastern
Virginia. Our data base of over 5,000 organizations, groups, agencies,
and programs provides updated information on services for a variety
of needs.
Available by appointment, telephone or on our website, www.theplanningcouncil.org,
the Community Compass Directory of services gives information on services, contact name, hours of operation, fee schedules
and program descriptions. Multiple resources and referrals are available
for a holistic approach to solving human service problems.
If you have a problem to solve or a need for information about services,
call 2-1-1 or visit our website to find answers. Our staff members are trained to recognize your specific
needs and make the appropriate referral. When necessary, we are
glad to help you communicate with service providers.
