Provides a professional organization involved with social concerns. SERVICES PROVIDED: Agency involves itself in social concerns or problems within a community, to recognize social needs, and works to develop service within a system to serve people. Agency conducts studies and makes recommendations. Problems are approached Ad Hoc, usually through committees, and are sometimes acted upon through education, other times through advocacy. Agency provides workshops offering continuing education unit credits toward certification renewal. Also involved in legislative issues through state social action committee and professional lobbyist.
