About the program:
Promotes a state of optimum health and the adoption of healthful lifestyles for the citizens of Virginia in partnership with local governments; assures that vital statistics, health information, preventive, and environmental health services are available to all citizens; provides medical assistance to low-income citizens; and further carries out other responsibilities and duties assigned by action of the General Assembly. Services also include HIV/AIDS testing. Also serves as the administrative office.
