About the program:
Provides short-term residential stay offering families a new start in a time of crisis due to eviction, fire, etc. Families must have been residents of Portsmouth for at least 6 months prior to homelessness. Food, shelter and clothing are provided, as well as an opportunity for homeless families to help themselves. By offering emergency housing, the residents can seek employment and permanent housing in an atmosphere of respect, acceptance, and companionship.
