About the program:
Regulates insurance companies licensed to do business in Virginia; conducts financial examinations of domestic insurance companies; conducts market conduct examinations of insurance companies; issues licenses to insurance agents, agencies, and companies; reviews life and health and property and casualty policy forms and rates; and responds to inquiries and assists consumers with insurance matters. The Bureau has several free booklets available about insurance. These include consumer guides to auto insurance, homeowners insurance, commercial insurance, life insurance, health insurance, a special Senior Citizens' Guide to Insurance, a Virginia Medicare Supplement Premium Comparison Guide and two guides designed to assist insurance consumers when a disaster strikes.
