About the program:
Protects the Virginia public from fraudulent practices in connection with the offer, sale and purchase of securities and franchises while encouraging the financing and formation of legitimate business and industry in the Commonwealth. The division registers franchises as opposed to individual franchisors or franchisees. It also registers, audits and investigates securities as well as the people who sell them and the people who provide investment advice with respect to securities.
