Provides a program which visiting teachers act as liaison between school, home, and the community. The Visiting Teacher works for the prevention and solution of problems of
maladjustments affecting children's progress in school, such as irregular or non-attendance, poor health, and home and family situations. The visiting teacher is responsible
for compiling data such as social history on a child, evaluating the information, and incorporating it into suggestions for services to aid the child in working through his or
her problem. The visiting teacher/school social worker also coordinates the collection of components needed for children suspected of having a handicap and forwards all
information to the eligibility committee for special education consideration.
