About the program:
Promotes horticulture and environmental awareness through education, research, display, and interpretation of plants and ecosystems. Encompasses 155 acres of botanical displays with over 20 theme gardens, including one of the largest collections of azaleas, roses, camellias, hollies, and rhododendrons on the East Coast. Tours of the garden by train and boat are offered. FUNDING: City and state government provide 60% of the funds, admission fee is 24% and membership comprises 5% of the funding. FEES: Train and Boat Tours are $2.50 each; a combination ticket is $4.00; children under age 5 are free with an adult; youth (ages 6-18) receive$1.00 off the ticket price.
