About the program:
Provides a non-profit hospital specializing in the treatment of respiratory diseases and immunological disorders. ELIGIBILITY: Agency serves chronic respiratory diseases and immunologic disorders. Clinical emphasis is placed on asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, tuberculosis, interstitial lung disease, occupational lung diseases, cystic fibrosis, immune system disorders (such as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis), systemic lupus erythematosus, and immune deficiency diseases. The patient must meet medical criteria of admissions committee. FEES: Daily inpatient charges are itemized. REFERRAL POLICY: All inpatient admissions are on a physician referral basis. Out-patient referrals may be accepted without physician referral. Specific laboratory results or X-rays depending upon admission diagnosis and a medical questionnaire completed by the referring physician. SERVICES PROVIDED: Agency is a non-profit hospital facility specializing in the treatment of respiratory diseases and immunilogical disorders. The hospital maintains a liaison with appropriate government programs. Children from infancy through age 17 are admitted to the pediatric service. Those 18 and older are admitted to the adult service. Accredited school programs are provided for children. Outpatient services are available. A complete behavorial sciences program including casework, psychological, psychiatric, and occupational therapy services is available during hospitalization. One of the goals of the center is to re-integrate the chronically ill into the mainstream of society. Also included as services are the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis Clinic, Asthma Clinic, Immune Deficiency Clinic, Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic and Patient Educaiton on specific illness.
