About the program:
Provides for families with children birth to 5, 4 to 12, and adolescents with 12 week programs designed to help parents and children learn new and more appropriate ways to grow and interact as a family. SERVICES PROVIDED: The Nurturing Program is a series of 12 classes for families to take together. Most often, they are held at a central meeting place where several families can come together in a group to learn nurturing skills. Some classes are brought to families in their homes. Group sessions are conducted by trained volunteers. Parents and children attend the Nurturing Program together and learn the same skills. This helps families get along better and establishes a nurturing way of life. Any family that wants to get along better, have better communication among members, or just wants to feel closer can benefit from the Nurturing program. The program works for all kinds of families: two-parent, single parent, foster, adoptive, and blended or step-families. There are many different nurturing programs designed for parents and children of different ages and cultures, including: parents, infants, and toddlers (birth to 5 years old); parents and school-aged children (4 to 12 years old); parents and adolescents (12 to 18 years old); teenage parents and their families; foster and adoptive families; parents with special learning needs and their children; hispanic parents and children (birth to 5 years old); hispanic parents and children (4 to 12 years old); nurturing program for among families; nurturing for prenatal families; and the ABC's for parents: Assuring Better Children.
