Provides insect control for York County.
SERVICES PROVIDED: The York County Environmental Services Mosquito Control Division operates a year round program to control mosquitos in York Couty. It includes adulticiding,
larvaciding and drainage. The adulticiding begins in May and runs into October. It consists of nightime spraying of permethrin. The objective is to kill the adult mosquitos.
The larvaciding is carried out by 2 teams each equipped with 3 laboreres and a foreman. They begin in May going out during the day looking for stagnant water and spraying it
with BT1. The last initiative is drainage. Here the main objective is to eliminate the standing water. Drainage is done year round for mosquito source reduction.
