Provides an advisory and planning one. It strengthens district cooperation and promotes regional plans. It also receives and administers Federal and State funds appropriated
to local projects.
SERVICES PROVIDED: The Planning District Commission role is an advisory and planning one. By the Virginia Area Development Act it is designated to strengthen district
cooperation and promote regional plans. The Commission is empowered to receive and administer both Federal and State funds appropriated to local projects undertaken by the
participating jurisdiction on a cooperative basis. This commission prepares plans and reports on such topics as land use, housing, water quality, recreation, and natural
resources of the Eastern Shore.
