Provides informal education for the handicapped. Films, exhibits, Historic Preservation etc.
DIRECTORY INFORMATION: The National Park Service in Yorktown is responsible for the Yorktown Battlefield, Jamestown, the Cape Henry Memorial, and the Colonial Parkway. It also
administers one picnic area on the Yorktown Beach. Hours of operation-the administrative offices operate from 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday. The Yorktown Visitor Center, is open 7
days a week from 9:00AM-5:00PM with extended hours from April-October. The Jamestown entrance station is open 7 days a week from 8:30AM-4:30PM with. The entire park is closed
on December 25 only.
FEES: The National Park Service charges an entrance fee of $5.00 per car to enter Jamestown. For educational groups with a written fee waiver, holders of Golden Eagle/Golden
Age and Golden Access passports, there is no charge.
Services: The National Park Service in York County and James City County consists of Colonial National Historical Park- this includes Jamestown, Yorktown Battlefield, Colonial
Parkway and the Cape Henry Memorial. The Cape Henry Memorial is on the Fort Story Military Base at Virginia Beach. The National Park Service is responsible for administerinf
these facilities and for preserving the natural and cultural resources for the enjoyment of future generations.
