About the program:
Aims to give quality day care and protection to children ages 3-5 through planned activities. The center is non-profit with a sliding fee schedule based on family income. FEES: A fee is charged for each child per week, based on family income and number of persons in the family. This fee, pay-ble by cash or check, is on a scale from $30.00 to $69.00 per child. REFERRAL POLICY: Anyone can call the center, however, an appointment is required for registration, an application form must be filled out and a physical examination report is required. An emergency medical treatment release form must also be signed. SERVICES PROVIDED: Downtown Hampton Day Care provides pre-school activities dealing with recreation, enviromental awareness and physical coordination. Field trips as well as weekly library vists are made. The Day Care Center can handle 30 children at a time and the focus is on the whole child, meeting both the phyical and emotional needs. OTHER COMMENT: Agency works with the Hampton Manpower Services program. with student teachers in fields of speech, hearing and early childhood development, and with 6 Foster Grandparents.
