About the program:
Provides a special interest service organization comprised of the locl parent-teacher associations. SERVICES: The Hampton Council of parent-teacher associations is comprised of 34 local parent-teacher associations, each one from one of the 33 Hampton Public schools and 1 private school. The services of this organization are many and vared. Some are to promote the help of volunteers in the school system, provide a scholarship program for a student from one of the 4 high schools, sponsor a legislation workshop, provide leadership training for elected officers, conduct a cultural arts program for national competition, assist in reading is fundamental' program, and channel the right to other programs and projects for the betterment of the schools and the benefit of the students. The council also sends a representative to all city council meetings and school board meetings, as well as other boards of the school system.
