About the program:
Provides adult offenders in institutions and in community programs throughout the state. SERVICES: The Virginia Department of Corrections operates State correctional institutions for adult offenders, provides care and training. Agency serves as the State's requlatory agency for local jails, supervises adult offenders who have been placed on probation, paroled or pardoned, and provides supervision and services through other related programs for adults. Services to persons with aids/hiv infection, the Department of Corrections provides or coordinates the provision of a range of aids-related services (education, counseling, treatment, and referral services) for the clients entrusted to the department's care and/or custody. Questions related to specific clients remain confidential; however, general questions regarding policies and practices should be addressed to the office of Health services of the Department of Corrections.
