About the program:
Offered after client has been screened for all nutrition risks, including high risk pregnancy, those with special needs for specific dietary needs for specific medical problems and low birth weight babies. As a preventative program it focuses on identifying potential problems and providing intervention. Income eligibility is based on amount of income and number of people in household (evaluative scale is determined by agency). Medical data required may be done on site. Re-certification is required at 6 weeks post-partum and 6 months post-partum if breast feeding and at 6 month intervals of children. Infants are re-certified at one year. WIC is required to perform a medical update for infants when six months.
