About the program:
Provides a supportive and nurturing setting where substance abusers can withdraw from substance without direct medical supervision or the use of drugs. Services include
couseling for alcoholics and other drug users, 12 Step Program, group therapy for alcoholics, and other drug users, as well as referral to other agencies. The center provides
initial assessment and constant monitoring of detox by certified emergency medical technicians. The average length of stay is from one to 72 hours. Gives immediate referrals
to a medical faciity for any acute medical or psychiatric emergency, as well as referrals to other community agencies for other needed services. Offers transportation on a
very limited basis to Norfolk residents only.
