About the program:
Provides a 250-bed hospital which features all private rooms. The hospital specializes in orthopedic, gynecological, general, and urological services. Its' Family Maternity Suite features 16 labor, delivery, recovery and postpartem (LDRP) suites and nine additional beds for other obstetric patients. Hospital has full service emergency department. Operates ambulatory surgical center at Kempsville Site -Outpatient Surgery-. Offers monthly health awareness series. This series offers programs of interest to the community. They include topics on wellness, disease prevention, disease process and treatment. Sentara Leigh Hospital has a parcourse circuit which is spaced throughout the property. The parcourse fitness circuit is a series of exercise stations marked by parcourse signs. At each station, guided by the sign illustrations and instructions, you perform a specific exercise or movement using any apparatus provided. One full circuit is a completely balanced workout for your entire body. Sentara Leigh Hospital has a back evaluation and treatment program. The program is designed to help patients set realistic goals which will help them manage their condition in such a way that they can lead full, active lives in lieu of sedentary resignation. Sentara Leigh Hospital has an orthopedic specialty center with progressive physical therapy seven days a week. Release-A-Kid is a program begun by the emergency room so that children can be treated immediately if an accident occurs while their parents are away. The ER provides a form for parents to authorize treatment, and after it is notarized, the form is returned to parents to keep available in their homes. AFFILIATION: Sentara Health System.
