About the program:
Provides educational programs through the Virginia Zoological Society's Education Department including tours; Hatchling preschool programs for ages 3 to 5, includes live animal
presentations and hands-on activities; elementary, middle and high school programs; Zoo Tots, includes stories, crafts, games and meeting animals, serving ages 3-5, with an
adult; Wild Bunch, a program for ages 6-11 includes meeting exotic animals, behind-the-scenes tour, crafts and hands-on activities; Zoo Snoozes program includes meeting
touchable animals, taking a flashlight tour of the zoo, making a craft, behind-the-scenes tour and sleeping overnight at the zoo, and serves adults and children age 6 and older
with an adult; Summer Safari Camp includes behind-the-scenes tour, live animal presentations, crafts, animal-related games, hands-on educational activities and opportunities to
meet zookeepers, and offered to ages 4-17; Horticultural Programs include the 4-H Children's Garden, Garden for the Blind/Children, and Garden for the Mentally and Physically
Challenged; and volunteer programs; camps; and teacher workshops.
