About the program:
Provides an after school program promoting experiences and activities which encourage girls to maximize their creativity and imagination; the Girl Scout "program goals" are the foundation for all activities, with girls planning their own activities and working on Girl Scout recognitions. At least 30 minutes of outdoor activity is provided, weather permitting. Basketball, jump rope, archery, picnics, cook-outs, nature hikes are offered. Snacks are provided, as well as help with homework and the Girl Scout program. AREA SERVED: Isle of Wight county, Newport News, Hampton, Poquoson, Hertford, Gates, Chowan, Perquimans, Pasquotank, Camden, Currituck and Dare counties in North Carolina and Ocracoke Island. LICENSURE: Virginia Day Care through the Virginia Department of Social Services. FUNDING: Program fees. CONFIDENTIALITY: Maintained. TRANSPORTATION AVAILABILITY: Provides transportation from 3 schools in the Great Bridge area. CLIENT TO STAFF RATIO: 20 to 3.
